UltraDNS Unveils Partnership Program and New Services

Leading DISP to Sign Qualified Partners for Reselling Its Managed DNS Services; BulkRegister.com the First to Take Advantage of Program Offering Fail-Safe DNS Reliability and Added Value to Its Customer Base

Company Expands Service Offering with the Introduction of E-mail and URL Forwarding Services

SAN MATEO, Calif. September 4, 2001 UltraDNS™ Corporation, the leading Directory Infrastructure Services Provider (DISP) that guarantees mission-critical directory reliability and performance, today announced the launch of the Ultra Partnership Program for resellers. The program is designed to support the resale of UltraDNS' managed DNS services through qualified reseller partners, including service providers, Web hosters, registrars and other partners. It enables resellers to provide their customers with access to UltraDNS' carrier-class, 100 percent fail-safe outsourced DNS infrastructure solutions. At the same time, UltraDNS announced the availability of two new robust services for domain management, e-mail and URL Forwarding.

The UltraDNS Managed DNS Service adds the valuable protection of "never-fail" URL/IP address resolution to a partner's service offerings while generating new sources of revenue for the reseller. The program's volume-based pricing model means greater revenue sharing for the reseller as additional customers subscribe.

Participation in the program requires only a minimal investment of a reseller's resources, and BulkRegister.com, the fourth largest domain name registrar, has joined to become the first UltraDNS reseller partner. Under the terms of the program, BulkRegister.com will earn additional revenue by reselling UltraDNS' flagship Managed DNS Service to its customers, which include brand-sensitive organizations with multiple domain requirements, and systems integrators, Web developers, designers and hosting firms offering their customers domain registration services.

"Large enterprises put their trust in the competitive edge that our Managed DNS Service provides them, and we wanted to make the same fail-safe protection available to BulkRegister.com's customers that are concerned with preserving their identity," noted Mike Guglielmi, vice president of sales and business development. "This is a win-win situation for our resellers who will be opening up a significant new revenue stream, and their customers, who will gain the same carrier-class technology that top online entities such as MSN Hotmail, Petco, BlueLight (Kmart) and Corio rely on."

In addition to offering UltraDNS' unique, value-added service to their base of customers, UltraDNS resellers will be able to protect their customers from lost income due to DNS failures caused by transaction problems stemming from public domain BIND systems. This will ensure widespread customer satisfaction by increasing the performance and reliability of customer web sites for their end users.

"As our members are concerned with protecting brand identity on the Internet, BulkRegister.com looks to form partnerships with tier one companies like UltraDNS to ensure they receive the highest level of services possible," said Tom Cunningham, CEO of BulkRegister.com. "By incorporating the UltraDNS solution as a value-added service, we are making sure our corporate members and our reseller members have the ability to consistently find a company's Web presence. This will in turn be critical to solidifying the investment an organization has made in creating an online brand identity."

Another major goal of the program is to make the same UltraDNS Managed DNS Service that has guaranteed mission-critical DNS resolution for large companies more easily available to small and medium-sized enterprises (the SME market) via the Ultra Partnership Program's multi-tiered reseller and referral program options.

"We have taken great care in designing our program to make it easy and flexible for our resellers and other partners," said Ray Stephens, executive director of UltraDNS marketing. "Not only does the Ultra Partnership Program offer partners different levels of participation, we've also extended that philosophy of flexibility and integration by offering our resellers varying levels of brand integration in the Managed DNS user interface. This is a very easy to manage, turnkey program that provides our partners with new revenue streams and a new source of customer satisfaction through enhanced reliability and quality of service."

The simultaneously announced E-mail and URL Forwarding Services complement UltraDNS' Managed DNS Service, providing customers with the ability to more completely control their own DNS and domain management. Both services operate within the framework of the Managed DNS user interface, and allow e-mail addresses and URLs to be forwarded from an UltraDNS hosted domain to any other URL or e-mail address on the Internet. Multiple e-mail addresses can be forwarded to a single Hotmail or Yahoo account, for instance. Multiple URLs, such as misspellings of a domain name, can be forwarded to the correct domain. Another frequent usage of URL forwarding is the forwarding of a single domain to another, more complicated URL with less brand value (e.g. www.mybiz.com to www.aol.com/members/joe02345/index.html).
