The foundation for all UltraDNS Services is the Directory Services Platform – a unique combination of patented, proprietary technologies and innovations that together deliver leading-edge reliability, availability, performance and security for today’s information-exchange applications. The platform contains the fundamental building blocks used to create both managed directory service solutions and custom infrastructure solutions. The platform is designed to support both IP and non-IP directories to meet the requirements of next-generation convergence applications.

- By utilizing a protocol-agnostic platform, UltraDNS can respond to virtually any request (i.e. DNS query, look-up, dip, etc.) and provide any electronic stream in return.
- By utilizing a proprietary intermediate Caching Layer, the Directory Platform combines sophisticated relational database capabilities with the performance of a memory-based system. It is controlled by a unique “logic layer” that is capable of interoperating with external systems and databases, which can apply processes to externally sourced data in conjunction with internal data prior to providing a response, such as DNS.
- Advanced replication technology that enables the network to propagate changes to directory data worldwide in near real time, delivering the most up-to-date answers possible.
- The UltraDNS multi-presence deployment utilizes fourteen (14) public node locations for reliability and redundancy. The global network, as a whole, is connected to multiple backbone providers for fail-over protection.
- Utilization of multi-master replication techniques enables the distribution of directory database information throughout the global server network in near real-time, while the advanced routing software directs each query to the closest available server for optimum speed and query resolution.
